Lapin Curiosities began as a vision: a space to celebrate artists and artisans with imaginative perspectives, where each encounter could spark delight, creativity, and discovery.
The seed for Lapin was planted during the Covid pandemic, while I was living for a year in Northeast Brazil with my husband, artist Douglas Gilbert. In that time of reflection, Douglas created a drawing that became our emblem: The Messenger, a rabbit, mid-leap, focused and determined. Across cultures, rabbits symbolize luck, creativity, and new beginnings, and so the rabbit became our guiding spirit. Lapin (lah-pahn), French for rabbit or hare, gave us both our name and our purpose.
Today, Lapin Curiosities has grown into a whimsical online boutique, and a private, by-appointment destination in North Adams, Massachusetts.
We offer a curated collection of handcrafted jewelry, puzzles, greeting cards, art kits, and other thoughtful treasures, each chosen to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and the joy of playful discovery.
Whether you’re looking for a meaningful gift, a spark of imagination, or something delightful for yourself, we invite you to explore the world of Lapin Curiosities online or schedule a visit to experience it in person.
